چکیده

A short review of wavelet-based adaptive methods for modeling and simulation incompressible turbulent flows is presented. Wavelet-based computational approaches different fidelities are recast into an integrated hierarchical eddy-capturing turbulence framework. The wavelet threshold filtering procedure the associated wavelet-filtered Navier–Stokes equations briefly discussed, along with collocation method that used numerical computations. Depending on level thresholding, possibly supplemented a localized closure model. latest advancements in spatiotemporally varying thresholding procedures adaptive-anisotropic wavelet-collocation make development fully approach feasible potential applications complex flows.

Large Eddy Simulation for Turbulent Flows

This thesis is concerned with one of the most promising approaches to the numerical simulation of turbulent flows, the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) in which the large scales of the flow are calculated directly, while the interactions with the small scales are modeled. Specifically, we analyze two new LES models, introduced in [30] and [51]. First, we sketch the derivation of the LES model introd...

Large-Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Reacting Flows

Numerical simulations of combustion in aircraft engines is quite complex, as it requires an adequate description of liquid fuel injection, liquid fuel atomization, drop breakup, drop dynamics, and evaporation, large-scale turbulent fuel air mixing, small scale molecular fuel air mixing, chemical reactions, and turbulence/chemistry interactions. In the present paper, we have identified three of ...

Implicit Large Eddy Simulation for Unsteady Turbulent Flows

A numerical investigation of high-resolution schemes for solving the compressible Navier-Stokes equations in the context of Implicit Large Eddy Simulation (ILES) is presented. Computations have been performed using a hybrid total variation-diminishing (TVD) scheme. The hybrid TVD scheme combines third-order Godunov-type fluxes with first-order (dissipative) schemes using the flux limiters appro...
